Memorial website in the memory of your loved one

UPDATE

Just wanted to update everyone and let you all know that a trial date has been set for Royce Clyde Ziegler Jr.  The date is October 19.  Please everyone pray that he receive the same punishment as Kimberly for his part in Riley Ann's death.

To update those of you who have not yet heard.  On February 3, 2009 Kimberly Dawn Trenor was sentenced to life in prison without parole for her part in the murder of my granddaughter Riley Ann Sawyers.  The jury took less than 2 hours to find her guilty of capital murder.  It was difficult for my family and myself, having to relive the horror of her murder again. I want to thank all of the ladies from the "Circle Of Friends" who came to Galveston to support me during the trial.  I also want to thank  Gulf Coast BACA for all their support in getting me in and out of the courtroom.  They are truly a great and dedicated group of individuals who had at least one of their members in the courtroom daily to represent Riley when I could not be there.  If you do not know about this group or what they are about I invite you to look them up on the internet at   BACAUSA.com and see the tremendous work that they do. You will not find better people anywhere.   There has not yet been a date set for the trial of Royce Clyde Ziegler, but as soon as there is, I will post it here.  Keep praying that justice will be done and he will receive the same sentence as Kimberly.  Thank you to all who have come here and left your condolences an to light candles. She has touched alot of lives and remains in the heart of many.  She was my little princess and though the sentence does not bring her back, it will at least give those responsible the rest of their life to think about what they have done.  And in the end they will have to answer to God for the things that they have done.

This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Riley Ann Sawyers who was born in Ohio on March 11, 2005 and passed away on July 24, 2007 at the age of 2. We will remember her forever.

The following poem is a poem written by Kathy Hernandez, from Trumbull Ct. (Gramma Kathy) for me about my beloved granddaughter.  It describes her so well.  It was read by my Brother Mike during her funeral.
Thank you Kathy.  We love you.

Poem For Riley

Heaven has a brand new angel Her name is Riley Ann
We have to ask you favors We know you'll understand

It's hard for us to let her go So innocent and so small
She did not get to live her life So soon you came to call

We know that you were with her And she was not alone
You saw that she was hurting And chose to take her home

We ask that you take care of her And give her all our love
We know that she is safe within Your arms Dear God above

She likes to play with Elmo Her favorite movie "cars"
Just thought that you should know these things She even owns a star!

Teach her how to write her name We did not get the chance
And she loves to shop and sing And oh she loves to dance

She liked to put grams makeup On her pretty baby face
Her favorite was a lipstick Inside a fuzzy case

If she asks why she had to go Away and leave us here
Please tell her that we love her so And how much that we care

Ask her all her hopes and dreams And help her with her prayers
And if she ever cries to you Please wipe away her tears

We ask you that you tell her When we say how much she's missed
We did not get to hug her tight Or give her one last kiss

When she looks down at her arms And sees that she has wings
Show her how to use them Please teach her all these things

Sweet baby till we meet again And get to hold you tight
The angels will take care of you And tuck you in at night

Her family cannot do these things For Riley anymore
But angels watching over her Will gladly do I'm sure

We will miss her so so much Our precious little girl
Please tell her that we send our love From all around the world

So fly high little Angel (RileyAnn) Fly high up above
And know that you will always and Forever have our love
